On September 29, 1926 - The Captive by Arthur Hornblow, Jr. (who would later marry Myrna Loy) opened on Broadway.
It's a play about a young woman's seduction by an older woman. This queer history fact amazes me. In all honesty the play probably isn't very good, it only ran for 160 performances. However, I am taken a back that in 1926 such a play could and was produced on Broadway. I guess the '20s really did roar!!
I'm going to try and find a copy and read it....look for a Queer Fact Update in future posts.
ps-Basil Rathbone was in the cast...aka Sherlock Holmes.
